Terms of Service

Agreement

These terms govern your use of Compound, including the desktop app, the iPhone app, compound.mov and the cloud features they use (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you use Compound for an organization, you agree on its behalf.

Your Account

You need an account for most features. Keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else has accessed it. You are responsible for activity on your account, including anything done from an iPhone signed in to it while mobile access is on.

Your Content

You own the scripts, media, projects and other content you create or upload. You give us the limited permission needed to store, process, transmit and display it to provide the Service to you, for example to transcribe a clip or deliver a file from your phone to your computer. You are responsible for having the rights to the content you use and post.

AI Output

Compound uses AI to transcribe, analyze and edit, and to draft scripts, captions and posts. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or similar to output for other users. Review it before you rely on or publish it. AI agents you connect run under your own agreement with their provider.

Acceptable Use

Do not use the Service to:

• break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright and privacy;
• create or post content that is abusive, deceptive, sexual content involving minors, or otherwise harmful;
• spam, or violate the rules of the platforms you post to;
• interfere with, probe or overload the Service, or get around its limits or plan restrictions;
• reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it.

Connected Services

When you connect social accounts or AI agents, Compound acts on your instructions through those services, and their terms also apply. We are not responsible for third-party services, and they may change or stop working with Compound.

Plans and Payment

Some features, including cloud features and the iPhone app, need a paid plan. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel any time, and access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices may change with notice. Except where required by law, payments are not refundable.

Beta Features

Nightly builds of the apps, and features we describe as beta, are pre-release software. They may change, break or be removed, and are provided without any commitment of availability.

Changes and Availability

We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the Service. We may update these terms; when we do we will change the date above, and your continued use after an update means you accept it.

Termination

You can stop using Compound and delete your account at any time, from Settings in the Mac app or the iPhone app. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or put the Service or other users at risk.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will be preserved. Keep your own backups of work that matters.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, Compound is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars.
